Why I Paint The Way I Paint?
Why I paint in Squares and Triangles? There are two stories: The Real Story and a Fictional Story that I have written.
For today, the real one. It is very simple, my mother wanted to embroider a whole king sized bed sheet/bed cover, in a cross-stitch embroidery pattern. Her sister and a friend had already completed half of theirs and she hadn't yet started. So, she asked me to help her, and we spent around 4 hours mapping it out on a grid paper making little x x x of red color, blue color, and making patterns and figuring out how to embroider that thing symmetrically.
While helping her out, I realized that this whole thing, is so difficult, that it could consume my entire life and I should start painting like that!!!
I went upstairs, I had a blank canvas and started trying out a painting and was able to complete it in about 4 days. It was a rough study, the red tulips one.
I don't personally like things that are easy. It gets very boring. I just try to keep pushing myself, to make it more difficult, more difficult, more difficult, till it consumes my entire central nervous system. Well, not the entire, I would say 98%, 'cause that 2% left is needed for the music!!
So, that's this and the fictional story I will tell you when I'm ready for it to launch!
This is the youtube video, of me narrating this story, if you're an audio visual learner. ;)
